Chain Oil: RPL-HT1001

Product Description:

The RPL-HT1001 was designed for high thermal and oxidation stability using a unique high viscosity 100% synthetic fluid for long lubrication intervals at higher temperatures. Davley Darmex RPL1001 Oil is recommended for the lubrication of chains, guides, bearings and gearboxes operating at high temperatures.

RPL-HT1001 is designed to handle severe mechanical loads and provides full lubrication at continuous operating temperatures up to 230°C (446°F), and at intermittent operating temperatures up to 282°C (540°F). Lubrication intervals and quantities will depend on operating conditions, lubrication system, and chain design. At elevated temperatures above 230°C, more frequent relubrication is recommended.

Darmex RPL-HT1001 has a high base oil viscosity, thus giving the user a cushioning effect and is especially qualified for heavy duty and shock load. It has a complete anti-corrosion, anti-wear formulation that will provide effective lubrication protection against water contamination.

Features and Benefits:

• High natural viscosity

• Low volatility results in reduced oil consumption

• High film strength and lubricity reduces friction and wear and power consumption

• Polar molecular attraction to metal surfaces provides good adhesive characteristics

• Natural wetting properties; penetrates fully and disperses evenly into the chain

• Protection against rust and corrosion of steel, copper, bronze and other alloys

• High temperature oxidation and thermal stability for prolonged fluid life

• Lower power consumption

Typical Applications:

• Roller chains for combined lubrication of bearings, chain links, and slide rails

• Sliding chains for lubrication of slide rails, chain links, and chain bolts

• Bakery ovens, tenter frame ovens, paint and ceramic curing ovens

• Chains, guides, pulleys and bearings

• Lithographic ovens

• Plywood drying ovens

• Plastics processing machinery

• Lens and glass forming equipment

• Building insulation ovens

• Light duty gear boxes operating at elevated temperatures

Did you know?

The majority of chains fail from the inside. They stretch or kink due to wear and corrosion inside the pin and bushing area.

To lubricate effectively, chain oils must be carefully engineered to penetrate and clean the inside of the chain,  removing contaminants and any trapped water, and leaving behind a heavy film of oil, grease or solid lubricant..
