Water Resistant Grease: RPL-Trident88
RPL-Trident88 is a long-lasting water resistant grease
manufactured using a 100% synthetic base oil and
thickened with aluminum complex. It has a low
coefficient of friction, a high viscosity index and a
high dropping point. It provides a high level of
performance and will typically outlast conventional
grease by a factor of at least three times depending on
the application.
RPL-Trident88 has very low pour points and superior
thermal and oxidation stability. It has a very wide
operating temperature range and maintains viscosity at
changing operating speeds and temperatures. It does not
contain components found in mineral oils that have a
tendency to carbonize at high temperatures or thicken
and gel at low temperatures. It is pumpable, even to
temperatures as low as -40°C.
RPL-Trident-88 is waterproof. It repels water and acts
as seal for bearings exposed to wet conditions. A good
measure of its waterproof ability is the Water Washout
Test (ASTM D-1264). When tested using this method,
RPL-Trident88 exhibits less than 1.0% weight loss. The
aluminum complex thickener contains fibers which
contribute to the unusually stable structure. The
product does not soften or run-out in the presence of
water and other liquids, even when subjected to
prolonged and severe working conditions. As it
approaches the top end of its operating temperature
range, it will soften but does not separate and will
reconstitute to its original consistency once it cools
down.
This particular grease is ideally suited for a wide
range of applications requiring a superior water
resistant grease including bearings, cams, slides,
gears, pumps, freezers, chillers, refrigeration units,
and outdoor equipment operating under difficult and
often-changing environmental conditions.
• Excellent water resistance
• Excellent EP and anti-wear protection
• Very low pour point down to -55°C (-65°F)
• Pumpable, even at very low temperatures.
• Excellent operating temperature range
• "Reversible" - returns to its original grease
structure
• High viscosity index and oxidation stability
• High dropping point

Most greases will offer at least some basic degree of water
protection.
However, it takes a careful combination of base fluids
and additives to formulate a product that not only will
protect an application, but also provide
continuous and effective lubrication under constant
exposure without breaking down.
