Product Description:

The RPL-WO series of way oils are formulated using highly refined, hydro-treated paraffin base oils with special additives blended to meet the severe needs of way applications including milling machines, grinders and similar applications. The RPL-WO oils contain a tackifier which enables them to adhere strongly to sliding surfaces and to prevent lubricant from being squeezed off the heavily loaded ways.

Many slide and way lubricants are particularly vulnerable to the alkalinity of synthetic and soluble coolants and cutting fluids. For a way oil to be effective, it must remain on the metal surfaces. The RPL-WO oils are carefully formulated to ensure a continuous film of protection on sliding surfaces, despite these harsh conditions.

The RPL-WO oils are designed with a friction modifier to prevent the slick-slip motion and chatter that often occurs in machine ways. This erratic motion is generally due to the starting friction encountered at each end of each back-and-forth movement whenever the ratio of the coefficient of static (starting) friction is lower that kinetic (running) friction. This friction modifier allows machines to start easily and move smoothly throughout the range of motion.

Typical applications include slides and ways on milling, horizontal and vertical machines, drilling machines, screw machines, planers, grinders, shapers, lathes and blotters. Also effective for motor and fan bearings, turbines, hydraulic and circulating systems and for mist, wick, drip-feed and hand-oiling, especially whenever there is the presence of harsh coolants, soluble oils and cutting fluids.

Method of Application:

No special precautions are required. Follow regular maintenance instructions as provided with original equipment. RPL-WO oils meet or exceed the performance requirements of:

• Cincinnati Milacron P-47 (RPL-WO68)
• Cincinnati Milacron P-50 (RPL-WO220)
