Water Resistant Grease: RPL-Ocean7

Product Description:

RPL-Ocean7 is a general and multi-purpose water resistant grease formulated using a highly refined and hydro-treated paraffin base oil thickened with aluminum complex to meet the requirements of applications subjected to harsh liquid and contaminant environments. It is ash-less, has a high viscosity index and contains rust and corrosion inhibitors for extra protection in harsh environments including steam, high humidity and salt water. It is non-corrosive with a high dropping point and good oxidation stability. It does not contain EP additives which will protect softer metals for longer periods of time.

RPL-Ocean7 is waterproof. It repels water and acts as seal for bearings exposed to wet conditions. A good measure of its waterproof ability is the Water Washout Test (ASTM D-1264). When tested using this method, RPL-Ocean7 exhibits less than 1.0% weight loss. The aluminum complex thickener contains fibers which contribute to the unusually stable structure. The product does not soften or run-out in the presence of water and other liquids, even when subjected to prolonged and severe working conditions.

This particular grease is also "reversible" is the sense that is can be subjected to brief temperatures beyond its dropping point and, upon cooling, it will return to its original structure. Typical applications include bearings, gears, cams, slides, textile machinery, dairy and bottling equipment, marine equipment, boat trailers and pumps.

Did you know?

Most greases will offer at least some basic degree of water protection.

However, it takes a careful combination of base fluids and additives to formulate a product that not only will protect an application, but also provide continuous and effective lubrication under constant  exposure without breaking down.
